A question I’ve asked myself many times, and a question that you’ll be sure to ask yourself at several times in the future if you make up your mind that you must bring a Weimaraner into your life.
All dogs are awesome, some dogs are easier to live with than others. Weimaraners don’t generally slot straight in to that category. They are a lifetime of ‘work in progress’, from 8 weeks old to their most senior years.
Of course, as with all things, the more hard work you put in, the more you get back from it, but it can seem like very large void, especially if you are used to less determined type dogs. One of the biggest and truly honest questions you have to ask yourself, and your family, before you fully decide that you have that this is a breed you want is “How much patience do I have?” – if this is finite, you might want to look at less independent breed.
